I recently had to reformat my C drive and reinstall XP and all my applications and drivers. Everything is working fine except the audio, which doesn't work at all. When I go to Control Panel, it says No Audio Device Detected. What should I do? The computer is a Compaq Presario M2010US if that helps.

devise manager, look for sound, right click, windows will even search for drivers for you. or find the name of your sound card (ac-97) or something like that, right click and find out the site. go there for drivers. the windows disk doesn't have drivers from third party hardware in it.

have you loaded the disc that carries the drivers for all your computer components, this disc would have come with it from new, also does your computer have built in sound or a sound card.
