You have a very interesting family life. Myself, brothers and father were split down the middle between Manchester City and Manchester United when I was growing up. It made for some lively match days, specially when there was a derby game on. Enjoy the competition, especially if they get to play each other alot.

Don't argue with him. You did not mention his age so if he is a minor, ask him why he likes that specific team and you will see that maybe there is something special or ideal about that team. If your son is an adult, then he has his freedom do decide for himself his prefered team. Parents must see their children as humans too and that they make desitions too up to a certain point. Don't argue with him because this will cause a seperation between you and him. Sports is supposed to bring people together especialy family and friends. So keep the father-son relationship going by letting him enjoy his team. But you can invite him to a tailgate party of your team, or to some events of your team and maybe he will see more of your team which will draw him more closer. But never argue. He may not be with your team, and if this is it, then let him be, but share with him. He sees your games and you see his games. You both can comment on each others teams like the reporters do.

It's not the end of the world. I would expect a teenager to go for one of the big four during the puberty period but then I would hope he would return to his roots. This happened with one of my daughters, the other one always followed the same team as my husband and I. I would be cross if they had chose to support a team that they would hardly go and see - support local that is what my view is. BUT if they had ever supported the Scum I think I would have had to disown them. Its dangerous living down here there are secret scummers everywhere - I hope the daughters never bring one of them home with wedding plans !

We're all Liverpool fans, but recently my eldest Son has decided he wishes to support Chelsea.
At first I thought what did I do wrong!!!
Although I don't wish to personally buy his Chelsea things my Wife has no problem in assissting our Son with his preferred team!!

Nothing really. My dad supports WBA and I support Aston Villa (both local teams, seems to be vanishing now)
And there are no problems. If there was a Blues or Wolves fan around there would be trouble, more so on derby dad

Nothing. He has the right to support whichever football team he wants. It'll get better. People who support the same team their whole lives are rare.
