... I no its not on a desktop but i use wireless laptop and there are no wires connected is me/ My laptop ok

I've yet to have a problem with mine, it's safe and even more so because you can look at the weather website and make sure if it's going to get worse or better. As long as you are not plugged in to anything its a good thing. Also if it's on when the lights go out, you still will have light from the laptop still if you didn't have the flash light on before the power goes off. I always have my lap top on durring bad storms.

Your router can still be fried through its power plug connected to your wall outlet.

Even if you have it plugged into a surge protector, thunderstorms can still even the durge protector.

It is about a dangerous as sitting on the sofa without the laptop.

If there is no wire to connect you to anything, then there is no additional risk.
