A broad query I know, and an over simplification. Both sides do it, but conservatives seem to be more rabid in their appoach. Maybe they seem more defensive because of who they voted for as president. I think even Rosie O'Donnell has a higher apporval rating.

An apporval rating is better known as a typo. I meant of course " approval rating." Do you apporve of that? If you coin a new word, can you keep the change?

My question is not an attack, just an observation.

I think that the preponderance of conservative media outlets gives conservatives predigested sound bites that they can then mindlessly repeat. The pugnacious style of reporting and opinion writing in conservative media outlets gives conservative supporters a type of behaviour to model: don't argue about facts, attack people who bring out facts that you don't like.

I don't think one group or another has the propensity to be more bitter in their attacks. I am a very very conservative voter ideologically and I see what you are talking about on both sides. You mention Rosie O'Donnell, I see her as highly inflamatory, but so too is Ann Coulter. You are better off talking to people who can be moderate in their approach to issues and in a rational manner. Coming from the conservative side, I see liberals doing that more so than conservatives. Perhaps it's the personal viewpoint of ours that makes it seem so?

That's funny! I don't think there are polls to find the Rosie O'Donnell approval rating, though. Nice try!

Trick question! those human beings right here are not 'conservatives', they're idiotic loopy people who ensue to call themselves conservative. in case you gave them a political technology try on what conservatism is all approximately, they might fail.

Look up approval ratings for Bush vs Congress.
As far as ad hominem attacks I think you need to be honest with yourself if you can and look at some of the liberal posts.

unfortuantly if rosie has a higher approval rating.. then Pelosi and Reid would be beat out too
but some examples would be nice.. I have seen both sides use the same style... it is often easier to accost than answer

Rosie O'Donnell for President? Yikes!!
I'd move to North Korea if that ever happened. Then again, if Hitlerie gets elected North Korea will be right outside my front door.

Most people will deviate from the main question when they are uncomfortable answering or missing facts. Politicians are the masters of this sort of smoke and mirrors game. When you really sit down and think about a politicians answer to most questions, you will find that most don't really ever answer the question at all.

True believers of any stripe tend to adevance the argument that anyone who questions them is not only mistaken but evil.
The very term "America-hating liberals" makes me want to vomit.
But then, that's what you have to do when the facts aren't on your side.

Sweetie, I learned a long time ago not to bother asking questions like this on here because all it will get you is sarcastic attacks. In my personal opinion, it is because they believe so strongly in their positions they will defend it violently. Even if that means illogically.
