Will Barry Bonds even want to talk to the President. I would think most athletes would be excited but I could see it now, the game will be over and the clubhouse attendant would tell Barry the President is on the phone. Barry would probably say that's nice. Tell him I said H and Bye. I also think that the commissioner is an idiot if he doesn't recognize the record. A record is a record. Bonds has never been suspended for steroids so don't treat him like crap. Regardless if he took steroids he is still a good baseball player. I think for Barry hit would hurt more that Hank Aaron would not be at the ceremony compared to the silly commissioner. The commissioner and Hank Aaron are real close so its no surprise the commissioner is unsure of celebrating the HR record with Bonds. Steroids may had more power, but like we have seen recently in the LA Dodgers series, Bonds still needs to hit the ball to hit home runs. Plus has anyone proved he did them

George Bush has more to worry about than anything to do with Bonds. I believe he will acknowledge the record and stay out of the controversy.

There was an episode of Hogan's Heroes, I don't recall the entire "plot", but the climax of the show was Hogan needing to clip a wire to prevent a time bomb from going off. Klink was there too, for whatever reason. Hogan, uncertain what to do, asked Klink to pick a colored wire. He dithered a bit, finally chose one. Hogan immediately clipped the other wire, stopping the bomb's timer.

Klink demanded to know why Hogan did that. Hogan replied that he knew Klink would pick the wrong one. Klink was absolutely reliable in that he would always, always make the wrong choice.

And I think of that, whenever Shrub does anything.

He must first consult with the CIA who are required to provide documents that are at least 20 years old to show 'evidence' the bonds broke the record back then.

He will then convince the nation that he has already broken the record and must be stopped before he breaks it again.

I am sure Bush will acknowledge the record if asked about it. Maybe even call to congratulate him.

I think he has more important things to worry about like this unjustified war with Iraq that we are on than worry about Barry Bonds.

He probably believes Bonds used roids, but being president he can't go right out and say he used them.
