for the last few months when i switch my laptop on i have to wriggle the AC cable in the socket to get it connected to the mains power outlet, but now there is no connection at all.I have tried buying various new AC connector cable's but none work so i presume its a loose terminal inside, what part would i require.

If you are flexing the cable on the plug of the AC adapter, then you need a new AC adapter. I would stop using the one you have immediately, if you have a partial short in there there is enough energy being provided to possibly start a fire.

If you are moving the AC adapter plug in the laptop's power socket, and a new AC adapter does not fix it, then you need to repair/replace the power socket. That is going to be specific you your series of laptop and should be replaced by qualified technicians. You should take it to a competent repair shop or send it back to the manufacturer for repair.

Your laptop comes with a transformer that turns the AC mains into a DC which you plug into your computer. You don't make it clear if you are wiggling the three pin plug in the mains socket or the small DC plug in the computer socket.
