1) I've never grown celery so I can't help there.
2) Water them frequently if they haven't fruited yet and cut back to once a week when they fruit. Pinch out the suckers. The suckers are branches that form in the fork of another branch. Picture this Y as a forked branch and now picture a smaller unproductive branch growing out of the V part of the Y. Other than that just watch for disease and insect problems.
3) Try to identify the culprit and research a method to stop it or ask another question about it in answers. Without knowing which insect is causing the problem it is hard to tell you what to do.
4,5,6) These are cool weather plants and need cold temps to germinate. It is way to hot right now. Try again in September.

Hope some of this helps

Celery needs to be mounded up the sides of the growing stalks to keep them from getting too green. This is called blanching. Try cardboard or some other creative way if pulling soil is too difficult.

Tomatoes: Once they are up and growing, be aware of potential insect problems, especially the tomato horn worm. You might want to read up on the dastardly devil. Keep the fruit off the ground, least it rots. Keep the soil evenly moist least you get blossom end rot. Realize there are two types of tomatoes: determinate that grow to a certain size and then start setting fruit all at once and indeterminate which continue to grow and set fruit. Many of your little tomatoes are indeterminate and can be monsters by the end of the summer.
Cabbage worms......did you notice little white moths fluttering around? Their worms are eating. Use Bt spray.......bacillus thuringensis spray.....it only kills caterpillars. Perfect for cabbage worms.......but get to it ASAP while you still have plants.

Beets and lettuce are cool season plants, not hot summer plants. They prefer a cooler soil. If you sowed in a line, try mulching along the line to see if that will cool the soil enough. Otherwise retry in a few weeks when things cool down.

Beans sick? Could be a soil fungus or virus. Pull up a sick plant and slit the stem open. If you see purplish discolor inside or even along the outer stem, you've got a problem in the soil.

Hi Matt,
Well, tomatoes are easily grown.
Be sure they are in full sun
Planted deeply to encourage roots
And deep soak once a week unless you live in a very very dry area. Do not water from the top, water at the base of the plants.
Do not fertilize too much as this will cause lots of foliage and no tomatoes.
Watch for tomatoe worms and had pick them off, otherwise they will eat everything in sight. They are called hornworms. Large, green with what looks like a red stinger on the back. Harmless to humans.
If you get white flys you can buy a powder to sprinkle on the plants that will take care of the flies.

Your cabbage sounds like worms to me. White moths lay their eggs on cabbage and then when the larvae hatch they start their banquet. I always hand pick the little critters off and I do it daily!

With your seeds. If you didn't keep them damp at ALL times you probably lost them. Once seeds are planted they must NEVER dry out.
Good luck with your garden. Wonderful place to spend leisure time and rewarding when you put the harvest on the table.

Best Wishes from a fellow gardner-Lyn California
