Ok if it hurts to go you are probably constipated, the blood in your stool (on your stool) wherever your seeing it is probably a result of the fact that your bowel is irritated. Try taking a laxative and see if that helps you go without pain and blood. If not, talk to a doctor, if your too embarassed to talk to your father about it, talk to a different doctor. It's probably nothing, but you can never be too sure these days. Like I said, try the laxative and see if it helps, if not, call the doctor. Feel better soon! :-)

It sounds like you have hemorroids.
From http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/hemorrhoids/
"Although many people have hemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl. However, an internal hemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. This is known as a protruding hemorrhoid.

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot forms. This condition is known as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.

In addition, excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching, which may produce a vicious cycle of symptoms. Draining mucus may also cause itching."

It might be an anal fissure or hemorrhoids, or it could be a more serious problem such as rectal polyps. But only a medical professional can tell you for sure what's going on. If you can't bring yourself to discuss this with your father, then make an appointment with your regular doctor and get it checked out. ANY sort of rectal bleeding must NOT be ignored.

She needs to get a pregnancy test just to be certain. Just because she had her tubes tied, doesn't mean she's not pregnant. In fact, it needs to be checked out right away as it could be an ectopic pregnancy which is really dangerous for her. Otherwise, she could be going through early menopause.

I'm not sure what it is, but you NEED to talk to a doctor. You don't necessarily need to speak to your father if it's too embarrasing. You say you're a med student, is there a University Health Services you can go to? Remember, they've seen everything.

It sounds like you may have an internal hemorrhoid. That would explain the pain and the blood.
