Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, is defending himself Monday after comparing President Bush to Adolf Hitler and leaving the impression the administration may have rigged the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Do you agree?

I do not!

Hi! Comparisons to Hitler have become very popular. One really needs to be careful in using this comparison because the constant analogies can weaken the savage history of Adolf Hitler and his Nazis. Remember that Neo-Nazis still exist and would love to downplay Hitler's atrocities in World War II. Politicians often use "Hitler" as a power word that can be used as a soundbite for the evening news.

I'm not saying not to make the comparisons at all, I'm just saying it needs to be carefully thought out before doing it.

As for President W to have a direct hand in 9-11, that is just absurd. First, I doubt he has the IQ to pull it off. Second, it would not take very long for the investigators to land on his desk if even a fraction of that were true.

This is not the first time a President has been accused of taking part of a national atrocity. President Franklin Roosevelt has been accused by many arch-right wingers as helping design the Pearl Harbor attack that got us into World War II. This also is absurd.

People, especially those in power, really have to be careful in how they use their words.

This is also a real good reason for us lay people to pay attention to history.

I do not agree that the administration rigged 9/11. There is, however, overwhelming evidence that they had received intelligence that strongly suggested there would be attacks against the U.S. using commercial airliners. Bush chose to ignore it, I guess because it would have messed up one of his many vacations at his ranch, which was where he was when he received those reports.

I can't argue with there Statements But They need keep an Open-mind to the Holocaust, Bush just Created a Stupid, Expensive, Poorly Planned War.

Hilter was just a Evil Man, and he Killed Millions of Jews, and their Friendly followers during WWII a Big difference.

Guarantee if a Republican made a similar remark there would be a wide spread call for his removal. Hell look at what happened to Trent Lott when all he said was Strom Thurmond's 100th birthday party

"When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over the years, either"

As far as who voted for him, that's what scares me. That there are places in this country where a) They buy the garbage this jerk is selling or b) They so blindly hate Republicans they'll literally will vote for anyone running under the Democrat ticket. Either reason they clearly want to destroy the United States as we know it.

I am sick and tired of people comparing anything or anyone unfavorable to Hitler and the Nazis. It is so trite.

I'm also sick of these conspiracy theorists who think someone as stupid as Bush would be capable of planning something as complicated as the 9/11 attacks.

Whose idea was it to elect him into office...

May I remind you people that in a speech by Barrack Obama, he said we need more people like this person on capital hill.

Who actually voted for this guy? 9/11 was not rigged by Bush. I don't know where he is getting this information from but anyone with this lack of intelligence should not be permitted to be a representative to anyone.
