to get a passport, i have to apply for an appointment,
they'll give me an appointment after 5 weeks.
after that i can apply and may or may not get a passport in 5 months, depends on my reasons and their mood and i have to apply again.
what can go wrose?

Worry not, Mr. Aus , the U.S. is also currently having long waiting periods for passport applicants. I'm not sure of the reason, but it has been in the news alot lately. So don't be so tough on your Swedish hosts. They are probably doing the best they can in a difficult situation.

Hmm.. Sweden?
In my country, a passport will only take an hour or two for application. Processing is only 24 to 48 hours then you can pick it up or have it delivered to your home via express courier. Renewing is just a phone call away.
