In most cases it helps us grow and makes us stronger. Some really horrible things can hinder us. Depends on what the something is and what our personality is. Laws of probability suggest that something bad will happen to each and everyone of us. It's just a question of time. If the odds of something bad happening is high enough, then it may never happen to us. Like winning the lottery, it could happen the first ticket you buy or never no matter how many tickets you buy.

Every bad experience is a learning experience. The lessons learned through bad times are usually the ones that stick with us forever.

If you didn't have hard times, you wouldn't know what the good times were, or appreciate those times. or appreciate what others go through when they are having tough times. It is supposed to teach you compassion for others, and to be thankful for having it good, even when you don't believe that you do, there is someone who always has it worse than you do, and would love to trade places with you/
