Well, somebody had to get there first. They have had a few successful seasons, but as for me, I am glad that I didn't grow up in Philly and have them as my "team" to cheer for.

I'm a Phillies fan of 25 years. I hear people say that the team has been around the longest. But how many world series championships have they won? All I can find is 1. I'm tired of people saying that the Phillies have injuries. So does every other team.

Actually, the Phillies are the longest continuously operating professional sports team in America, so that has some thing to do with it. As for this year- if we hadn't lost Leiber and Garcia-two-fifths of our rotation- for the season, and hadn't lost our closer and key setup man for a couple of months, we'd almost certainly be at least tied with the Mets for 1st right now. Kyle Kendrick has been a find for the rotation, but Eaton has been almost completely ineffective. Even if Gordon and Myers come back healthy, which would take care of the bullpen, the Phils need another good arm in the rotation to take them to the postseason.

Baseball has been around for a long time and many other, of the original teams, are close to that number as well. Why don't we just give the Phillies credit for being competitive this year, isn't that more important right now?

I'm not a philly's fan but I don't talk trash about teams like that, it just seems kind of lame.

I hate the Phillies, so that makes me happy. You know what else makes me happy? The Braves, who I also hate are next on the list to lose 10,000 games, hahaha.

They have been around longer than most other teams. When they started their organization there were only 38 states so shut up. Most other teams would have had 10,000 earlier if they had been around that long.
