I have guppies and mollies as well (in the same tank). My black molly is the exact opposite he sits in one spot and twitches and goes crazy all day long (not just trying to breed) I've decided my fish has ADD. Maybe your fish is depressed or just extremely laid back. Sound likes your fish is healthy; so I'd have to say it's just his personality. If it just started maybe he/she was picked on and is now insecure. Hope this helps; good luck. And to andy's response you don't answer a question with hello....

I would say dont worry about it, i had a beta fish a few years ago and basically it would stay in the same place and move for food, The beta that i have now moves everywhere, its just the fish. I mean you could go get it checked out but the vet would probably not give you much information and then charge you alot, if you are really that concerned about it i would say go to the library or a local fish store, usually they have informed people there.

Hello, Sounds to me like your molly is stress out by being in a freshwater tank. See Mollies are a brackish water fish. They do best in a tank that has some salt in the water. Guppies and Platies are freshwater fish and need to be in a freshwater tank. So the best thing you can do for your Molly is to put it into a tank that has some salt in the water.

I would suggest you test the water's PH fish often hang around the bottom when the alkalinity is too high for there taste.

I would also suggest that when asking a question you become a little less petulant when someone supplies what they believe to be a valid answer. We're all here to try and help one another.
