Well, since you asked this in the Science & Mathematics category, I'll give you an answer from the scientific viewpoint.

As of yet there is still no credible evidence for the existence of ghosts. In fact, if we were to investigate the supposed hauntings of ghosts scientifically, the most that could be concluded was that something unexplained was going on. Furthermore, there are no confirmed theories defining the difference between ghost hauntings, leprechaun hauntings, or invisible pink unicorn hauntings, or something else altogether. "Unexplained" does not mean a ghost did it, nor does it even mean that the event was paranormal in nature. It just means that it is unexplained. So in summary, no, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of ghosts.

Regarding your event, there are at least a few natural explanations. (1) You were simply dreaming the event; (2) you were experiencing sleep paralysis; (3) the footsteps were caused by actual feet, not ghost feet; (4) you were too sleepy to realize you kicked off your blankets yourself; (5) another person in the house played a trick on you. There are probably yet more natural explanations I'm not thinking of.

My advice is to relax and chalk it up to sleepiness. It seems that most "ghost" hauntings occur at night when the person is sleeping or tired, and I don't think that's a coincidence. It's far, far, FAR more likely that you were just dreaming or groggy than it is that a ghost, leprechaun or other supernatural entity visited you.

I have expertise in this category. There is such a thing as paranormal activity and yes, it was probably a restless spirit. Not necessarily a vengeance one, now if it was a vengeance one you'd be dead. So it probably just can't see the light. While you felt this did it feel colder then a usual night with the covers off? If so it most likely was. What you need to do is talk to it. Ask it to move things. If such happens it is.Then what you do is you get a Ouija Board. Lots of people say they're haunted they're not. Ask it what it's first and last name is. Then it will spell it on the Ouija board. Then you ask it about a light. Help it toward the light by encouraging it. Good luck with the seance!

Well, ghosts are not exactly called ghosts for one matter. They are spirits. Now, if you believe in God, then people say that they are real, yet they cannot hurt you. I for one do believe, however I am still scared! Poeple do not understand how the spirits work. Your brother thinks that he is dating a ghost. Ask him if you can meet her. If he says you can't see her or something like that. Not to be rude, but he may be possessed by a demon. Demons are real and are created by vicious devils known to one devil, Satan, or as others call him, Lucifer. Many refer to a spirit as a well, spirit! Your brother cannot be dating a spirit because if a spirit is around you or your brother, it means that the spirit is unhappy. They only want you to leave if they are unhappy. So either your borhter is a loony, or he is possessed make your choice of what to do. Ask him if he is alright with being baptized or exorcised. Do not be afraid. Be careful though. Because if you choose to exorcise him he may become a lot different. If there wasn't a demon inside of him, he may have one after the exorcism. For instance as a real experience of ghosts, I hear breathing when I am alone in my mothers room. No, i am don't even breathe that loud. I hear dreadful noises, and I am woken up in the middle of the night from near suffocation (Particularly many people have told me that a spirit is angry at most when they try to suffocate you. It means that they don't want you to live there, or they won't let you sleep and want to scare you out of the house). I am moving out of my house.

It depends on your definition of a ghost!Has any of this happened where your at before?start by researching the houses history and the land that its on.Your local library and historians, will be a good place to start. Please don't use a "Ouija"board!!!!!!They can be dangerous and you can add to the problem!keep a journal,if you have a camera or a way to record the activities, that will also help.Do not provoke it in any way!and try to stay calm.there are paranormal groups all over that would love to help and investigate.always check references and remember there is always prayer, and this is your space, your life. Not all things or people that are haunted are evil....some are really helpful, funny, and just want to be noticed, others are unable to move on or are in visitation and can get very mischievous but harmless. So before you go banishing,or smugging ....do the research, don't panic, and think about if it was you or someone you know just stopping in to let you know that your still loved on the other side.Be smart and be safe.....Blessed be! And good luck!

This is not such a simple question.
1) Were you laying in bed and felt the blankets being pulled off, and heard the footsteps.
--- in this case......
This has happened to me quite a few times. It is one of the less common known sleep paralysis symptoms. In sleep paralysis, you are not asleep, your mind is fully awake while you experience this vivid hallucination. Thus it is difficult to distinquish sleep paralysis from being awake. Its much more common than you would think. Footsteps and other auditory hallucinations are also very common.

2) Did you wake up to find the blankets off you and hear the footsteps?
In this case, ask yourself, was there someone around who could have done this? Could it have been a dream where you threw the blankets off? If these two possibilities are not possible then I would start suspecting something supernatural.

Whenever someone says they are experiencing paranormal activity in bed, you have to first suspect sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, or other known sleeping disorders.

Goodluck in solving this mystery.

Paranormal phenomena does happen.

There are any number of things it may have been. Least of all being a ghost because ghosts have no real power. That is to say they can't grasp a blanket.

Have you recently moved? If not, has any new work been done on the current place you live? Construction work can set off phenomena - as the paranormal don't care to have their homes messed with.

The important thing is not to be afraid.

OK I'll try this one and start by saying that when you are asleep your perceptions and your general state of mind are very different to being awake. There is a state between awake and asleep which can be hard to identify and in that state you can easily become convinced of events which are not present in the waking state. I would look to known psychological states before attributing anything to the paranormal.

What makes you think a ghost did it?

Take the scientific approach and assume nothing until you have positive proof or evidence of some sort before drawing a conclusion. Based on the information you have provided there is nothing that would make me think a ghost is responsible for what you experienced. There are many, many natural explanations you would have to account for before you could just jump to the conclusion that a ghost is responsible for what you experienced.

whoa ...there's a difference between ghosts and sprits(entitites) and poltergeist...seems like you have a poltergeist on your hands. I know that the word poltergeist comes from the german word meaning "noisy ghost". So in your case I would difiently say you have a noisy ghost who desperate to be heard in your home. Do something now about before the ghost actually begins to harm you. Like scratching and pinching you. Choose carefully how you rid of them because if it doesn't rid of them completly, they get angered and rebel. Good Luck
