Where can I contact students there and ask questions on the Foundation Programme?

For instance, how is the teaching there?
Is it culturally diverse?
Did you get into your most wanted course after the foundation programme?

G'day,

Taylor's College historically was the foundation studies course for Monash University in Melbourne. Now they have just opened their Sydney campus.

As a student for foundation studies, you will still need to achieve a certain level of scores before able to enter the course that you'd like to study in a particular uni.

Foundation studies itself is basically a 1-year course for the international students to prepare them for university study. So it only offers very essential subjects for entry to uni (not as diverse as normal high-school subjects).

However, the course is now becoming less popular since the introduction of "University Level College" course. This is usually offered by the colleges/TAFE for limited area of studies such as business, IT or media studies only. Most overseas high-school graduates that cannot have direct entry to uni, will study for abt 1 or 1.5 years in college/TAFE, and then accepted in 2nd year of uni. This is faster compared to 1 year in foundation year and then enter 1st year of uni.

Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au if you still have any questions abt study in Australia. Good luck on your study and welcome to Australia :)
