Microwave ovens do not produce heat. They use small waves (so small they could be considered micro), and boil the water in the substance in the microwave oven.
DO NOT bake a cake in a microwave, it will not work, as the cake requires heat (from a conventional oven) for the yeast to rise, and make it cake like. If you really don't want to bake in an oven, it would work in a barbecue (I've baked stuff in the BBQ when it's too hot to bake inside), but be careful, since the temperatures are hard to manage.

You need to find a microwave specific recipe. Cakes need a different formulation for a microwave because the oven does not heat in the same way - the air in the oven is not hot.
Cakes do rise in microwaves - actually more than in a normal oven - but they do not brown. Be sure you are happy with this.

Your microwave does not show temperature in watts. It shows power output in watts. This is totally different than temperature.
If you have a recipe or instructions that tells you to cook something at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time, use a real oven. Microwaves don't work that way.
