You know, those that have the two metal prongs that close when you are putting them into the wall, and once they are in, they spring the two prongs to prevent the plug from coming out again. I need the exact name, please!

The technical name is spring toggles and they come in a variety of sizes dependant on the thickness of the item you are intending to fix to the wall (from 50mm up to 80 mm). Bear in mind they are a use once item only, if you want to take down the item you lose the expanding spring mechanism in the hollow wall. Easier to use and just as effective, are hollow wall anchors or plasterboard anchors. These are reusable as the fixing remains in the wall.

Have a look at screwfix.com for more info and prices.

A butterfly anchor is what I've heard them called. Wall anchor would probably describe it well also if you need to get more from a home store.

Toggle bolt is what you are looking for. A Molly bolt is the type that shortens and expands sideways when you tighten the screw.

We used these in one of our previous homes. There are various different kinds but I think they were called cavity wall raw plugs.
