I feed my betta twice a day. In the morning I feed him two Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets - here is a picture of it: http://www.aquatichouse.com/Fish%20Food_files/betta%20bio-gold.asp

Then in the afternoons I feed him a small chunk of frozen food. For the frozen foods I thaw the small chunk in a small amount of water for a couple of minutes.

Here is the schedule of his afternoon feedings:

Sunday - frozen brine shrimp

Monday - frozen blood worms

Tuesday - fresh batch of live black worms I get from a local pet store.

Wednesday - frozen blood worms

Thurday - the same live black worms.

Friday - frozen blood worms

Saturday - frozen krill

Keep in mind, I feed him the pellets every morning. For the black worms, the pet store gets a new shipment every Tuesday so I feed him a fresh batch on Tuesday, and then on Thursday where I throw out the remaining black worms.

He eats everything and still looks healthy and active..just want to make sure his diet is ok

It sounds like you are doing great but you may want to consider feeding him less frozen and live foods, as these are considered "treats". And replace some afternoon "treats" with pellets. Other than that, your betta sounds like he's thriving.

His diet sounds great! Bio-Gold pellets work as an excellent staple, and the variety of treats is amazing. The only thing that might be possible to change is: you might want to consider fasting him once a week. It does sound like he gets a lot of rich treats over the week and a fast for one day will clean out his digestive system. It's not necessary, just something you might want to consider. Other than that, well done!

WoW! Too bad everyone doesn't spoil their fish like you! This is a very good diet! First, you aren't overfeeding and second you vary the food every day. If you're as conscientious and concerned about all the other aspects of his care, I'm not surprised that he looks healthy and active. Good job!

Very superior diet! If only all ebttas were fed this way 90% of the betta problems we see would disappear.

When I had bettas, I fed them betta food that is specifically made for them. It helped in keeping their color. n
