My maid is on leave and I don't know what she uses to clean my floors. Everything from the store as "hardwood floor cleaners" leaves LOTS of streaks. I remember her saying something about using white vinegar... any suggestions???

Murphy's Oil Soap. Very mild on wood and effective. Also, you want to rinse with cold water immediately to prevent streaks , regardless of your cleaning agent.

Just go to lowes and get a good hardwood floor cleaner. Ask for help and a rocomendation. Anything can work well if you put some time into it. Vinegar works well but leaves a stench that can seep into the boards if you are not careful. You may want to consider just mopping your hardwood floors like you would tile or other floors. Just vaccume first, and them mop or what ever. Just be sure to ddry them off with a couple dirty towles afterward.

some luke warm soapy water with either Murphy's oil soap or a little like 1 C. per gallon.. with vinegar.. Do not use a really wet mop.. wring out the mop so it's slightly damp.. .A lot of water damages wood floors.. Good luck..
