Folks - I know the GOP, for the most part, doesn't want you to be allowed to marry each other.

And I disagree with them on that - I've really never understood why you do or like what you do but it's none of my business and none of the government's business and if you want to marry each other, that would do me no harm, you should be allowed to.

But the radical muslims - not all muslims, the radicals - they want to stone you to death, because the Koran literally translated says that's what should happen to you.

And in the parts of the world where they're in charge, that's what would happen to you.

Hate Bush all you want but the radical islamic terrorists hate America because we're the place where people are free to do what they want - yourselves being a prime example.

Should we ignore this threat?

LuLu fair enough not all homosexuals hate Bush but most, at least according to the polls, do.

Mr. Jello I agree, the Democrats don't deserve the pro-gay mantle and don't deserve the support of gays - - I'm just giving, for the sake of argument, on the notion that on the gay issue du jour the GOP is largely on the wrong side, but pointing out that that shouldn't translate to other GOP positions such as the war against terrorism, in particular the radical islamic groups - - - I'm just pointing out that people who don't want to let you get married but will otherwise leave you alone aren't as bad as people who want to stone you to death.

Indy, no I'm not implying Democrats would not be fighting back - I'm saying it.

They've opposed every measure that has been used to fight back.

Oh, except the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq......

Lucas no, the resurgence of radical islam has nothing to do with the US - - for centuries it's been a seesaw battle between the stone age types and those who want to join the rest of the world.

Yes, it is real. It isn't just 9/11. People remember that because of the magnitude of the devastation. We should not forget the other incidents that have occurred such as this one: "A car bomb exploded underneath the World Trade Center in New York on Friday, February 26, 1993 killing at least five people and injuring scores more. About 100,000 people work in and visit the 1,700ft towers every day - the blast happened at their busiest time. The bombing has shocked America which had seemed immune from acts of terrorism that have plagued other parts of the world. ...... In May 1994, four men - Mohammed Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Mahmud Abouhalima and Ahmad Ajaj - were sentenced to life for bombing the World Trade Center. In October 1995 Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a blind cleric who preached at mosques in Brooklyn and Jersey City, was sentenced to life for masterminding the bombing." I remember another one somewhere else but couldn't think of it to Google right at the moment. Smaller, yet still terrorist attacks on American soil. It is very real and a significant threat right here at home. There is always the excessive hype from the media and sources that will use something like this for their own personal gain and interests. This should not make the American people think any less of the actual threat that is out there.

Hey Truthisback, it is difficult to answer your question because you put a lot of things together.

Sure, I don't want to live under islamic radicals, nor under terrorists. They are purely and simply stone age.

Only a few decades ago some now very radical islamic countries, were very free and liberal ones. Do you know that for example the headscarf and so are in a relentless march upwards ? And only recently ?

Do you understand the reasons behind that ? It is not as if people are hating the US for freedom etc, it is that they are turning their back towards something they no longer trust. And in doing so preferring to plunge back to their own old habits.

In some countries, as Iran, to the extremes. Horrible... but comprehensible.

i am obviously speaking to an American, my personal view is that you have brought this on yourselves the hatred of so many people, and we in England are now labeled the same as you and have to suffer the consequences. We in England have been put in to a situation that cannot be got out of, without a climb down from America You still haven't learned from viet nan if the enemy is not wearing a uniform then there is no possible way of winning. i don't know what this has to with being gay. You must have issues about gays "why do you do what you do" inferring that you are homophobic touch a gay and you will become one Why do you do what you do, who said your way was any better. Islamic terrorists are only getting back at the way the west have treated them for hundreds of years. America is not free they have you pinned down they can strike when and were they like because they are not wearing a uniform to differentiate them from every one else. they are in charge and we have to toe the line. At the end of this what has his got to do with being gay. Being gay does not stop you from being a soldier, or sailor , and it does not stop you killing people. the whole of the question that you have asked is about your problems and uneasiness of gays.

Truth- I think this question is a lot like asking Blacks, Latinos, or teachers etc. (or even white upper middle class men) the same question. You're not going to see a concensus. People are different.

The more interesting question would be: Do homosexuals have a different perspective about fighting readical islamic terrorists since they're familiar with fighting radical Christian Right Wingers trying to take away their rights?

One thing I have learned is not to fight anyone else's battles or struggles. There are a multitude of people out there while we are fighting this war who are homeless, prostituting themselves, and much more. I don't think they are necessarily that bad off despite that they are probably not happy and don't have a choice. However I feel about terrorists or their reasons, I really don't understand them and I think they are just taking this opportunity to attack us because they can. Yeah, I think we should stop them, but we could be using the money we are spending on the war and rebuilding Iraq on a lot of other things like our own country. And I am concerned that it will be all for not. It's not like our gas prices are coming down.

I don't really care. I'm never getting married to anyone so gay marriage issues are not my problem either. I am gay but believe that marriage is bettween a man in a woman. I think we should beable to get civil unions.

Radical muslims are stupid. If they want to blow themselves up that's not my problem either

why do they even bother posting this stuff in the news anymore. It's not news this happens several times per day!

What makes you think that Gays hate Bush? I know one gay guy who would practically blow him. LOL!

Anyways, there are Gay Marines serving this country, so what's your point? Gay's are "liberal" who don't believe in war or fighting based on some notion that gays are weak?

Hardly. They, just like everybody else wants to fight extremists no matter who they are - albeit Islamic, or Christian.

"Homosexuals" are individuals. We are not one big conglomerate mind like the Borg. Each individual person has their own beliefs, just like every white person, every black person and Asian person has their own views.

So, there is no answer to your question. Replace "homosexual" with "Do you believe we should fight radical islamic terrorists" and then you can get some answers. Look at people as individuals, not as whatever classification you try to squeeze them into.

Why do you blame the GOP for preventing gays from getting married? It was Clinton who signed the 'Defense of Marriage Act' into law, and I didn't see any gun pointed to his head.

Didn't he also sign 'Don't ask, Don't tell' into law as well? Weren't more gays kicked out of the military during Clinton's 8 years than Regan/Bush's 12 years in office?

Why do the republicans get the rap while democrats get a free pass?
