I keep an eye on it. Most of the good cheat sheets list the players bye week, so if you are paying attention you can tell when you have a big bye week problem.

I know some people that go out of their way to get players with a specific bye week (or two). They figure that they'll take their lumps in as few weeks as possible.

Don't let it govern your draft. Go best available player, and use bye weeks only to tip your decision when you're stuck.

It is sensible to make sure your defenses and backups have different bye weeks.

It's never affected the outcome of my season.

I actually do consider it every pick. A lot guys will tell you the bye week is overrated and whatnot, but I disagree.
Be honest, do you really want your 2 starting running backs having the same bye and then you have to replace your usual tandom of let's say a Frank Gore and Maurice Jones-Drew (not saying they have the same bye) with Chester Taylor and DeShaun Foster? It's pretty much a guaranteed deduction of 30-40 points from your usual score.
Same thing with wide receivers. Would you rather have a let's say tandom of Larry Fitzgerald and Hines Ward or Isaac Bruce and Ronald Curry?
To answer your question if it's ever affected me, that's basically why I make a big deal about it now. Happened last year. It was a 2 QB league, and both of my starters had byes. I was left to rely on Brad Johnson and Charlie Frye. Ya, I lost.

I have considered it during drafts. Towards the middle of the draft I look at the bye weeks my players have. If I see a position that has multiple players with the same bye week, I draft a bench player who has a different one. That way they can fill in during the bye week. It really doesn't matter if you have 2 running backs with the same bye week. You will likely lose the week they are out, but will have a strong team every other week.

Always draft bench players who have different bye weeks. that way you can plug them in your lineup when needed. Don't draft 2 kickers though. When the bye weeks are coming up, people will drop their kicker and pick one up. The difference between the best kicker and 10th best kicker isn't much of a difference.

You really don't need to draft 2 defenses either. Do the same thing, pick one up on the bye week.

Good luck.

I try to pick players with varying bi-weeks, but in the end it doesn't help too much. For example, if you have the chance to pick two great backs and they have the same bye, you will more than make up for it during the remaining weeks.

Losing a game or two during the season won;t really hurt you, so go with the best players and don;t worry too much about the bye.

I always consider the bye week...

Just make sure you have a decent back up waiting to fill the spot. There no reason to have a back up that has same bye week as your starter does... doesn't make sense.

I try to get my top 4 starts on the same bye or two different byes... that way your not missing major points out of your big guys more then two games.

Its tricky, good luck!

Last year I found it most important that you either have good players/or deffense lined up for your Bye weeks, or to have the ability to drop one of your back ups for someone a couple weeks before the actual Bye week.

I guess my main point is to plan well ahead for it, but don't necessarily dictate your initial drafting for it.

the big issue is making sure you dont draft/plan on starting a lot of players from the same team. its easy to replace 1 player on their bye, but when you got 3 or 4 players from the same team, it's nearly impossible.

I usually only take a look at bye week for Defense, Kickers and TE back ups. Everybody else, always take the best players available.

Last year I didn't and ended up with LT, Gates and Rivers on my team. I forgot to check my team prior to week 3 and got spanked.
This year I tried to make sure my back up picks were not on the same bye week as my starters.
It is nearly enough to cause an aneurism.

No, because if ur team deserves to win ur league, it wont matter wen ur players are goin into the bye week, so i just pick the best players there are.
