Uh, no. You cannot see a heartbeat nor baby moving for quite some time- usually around 30 weeks or so. Please educate yourself on your pregnancy- there are a lot of good websites out there to help.

OMG...I can't believe some of these responders. I guess their main goal in life is to cut people down. Probably makes them feel better. Oh well! Don't let them steal your joy! Anyway, congrats on the great news. Isn't it so great to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I got to hear my bambino's heartbeat yesterday too. It was about 148 - 150 bpm. It took her a few seconds to get it in the right place to hear it as well. But it was awesome. It's come down from the last couple of times they measured it, but it's still strong so that is great. My next milestone is my next appt where they will confirm the sex which is July 9th. I will be 18 wks then. I am 14 wks, 3days. And I think it's going to be a girl, based on what they told me at my appt two weeks ago. But we will see, it's still 50/50. Congrats again! I'm glad everything is going so well. :)

You can NEVER see or feel the baby's heartbeat on the outside. You can see the baby's heartbeat with ultra sound as early as 6 weeks (that's when I saw my son's heartbeat). The baby is surrounded by fluid so feeling their heartbeat is impossible. You CAN hear the heartbeat at 6 weeks also with ultra sound. You don't have to wait until 12 weeks and they DON'T have to use special equipment.

No, if you've been pregnant for three weeks, your baby has a heartbeat already (I'm thinking that's maybe 20 days after conception?), but you can't see it by looking at yourself. You'll be able to hear it about ten weeks after your last period, when you go to the doctor, or see it on an ultrasound earlier than that, but even when the baby is ready to be born you can't see the heartbeat by looking at your abdomen. Good luck to you.

Your baby's heart doesn't begin beating until 5 weeks, so it certainly couldn't have been a heartbeat you were seeing. Your baby is microscopic right now and you wouldn't be able to see him/her with an ultrasound, let alone by looking at your stomach! My guess is you were having a muscle spasm in your stomach and that's what you saw.

Nope, you can't see any movement from the baby until much later in the pregnancy... and you can't ever really "see" the heartbeat. Your doctor should be able to find the heartbeat between weeks 10-12. Make sure to attend regular visits with your doctor. You can also find lots of information at various websites. My favorite is www.babycenter.com, you can get a weekly email telling you about the development of your baby and all kinds of other great information.

That's YOUR heartbeat. The pulsing you see is caused by your abdominal aorta.

The first time you see your baby's heartbeat on a sonogram or hear it with doppler, it will be distinctly different from yours because it will be MUCH faster.

You'll be able to view your baby's heartbeat via transvaginal ultrasound around 6 weeks. Around 8-10 weeks you might be able to hear it with doppler, although sometimes it takes a little longer.

Certainly not the baby's heartbeat no! It will most likely be your heart beat or just general movement of your tummy. You won't be able to see the heartbeat at any point during your pregnancy, you can hear it from about 10 weeks at a midwife appointment and you can hear it yourself from 21 weeks if you buy a heartbeat monitor to use at home. Good luck with your pregnancy!

A baby's heartbeat can't be heard until around 12 weeks and even then special equipment is needed. The baby's heart can be seen on an ultrasound at about 5 or 6 weeks. You have to remember right now, at three weeks your baby is somewhere between the size of the period at the end of this sentance and a grain of rice and his or her heart isn't even formed yet. the babys heart starts to form around the 4th week and starts beating between the 5th and 6th week.

No, that is most likely your heartbeat. The earliest you can detect a heartbeat on an ultrasound can be 6 weeks, depending on the position of the pregnancy.

If you don't know anything about pregnancy, ask your mom or friends and get a book on it. I wouldn't recommend a website because anybody can write their own website.
