It was pretty good. You can't compare the book to the movie, though. They changed quite a bit, but it was still pretty good.
Definately worth at least some of the hype.

It's a good entertaining movie. What's there is true to the original book in tone and general story, but they cut so much out to keep it from being a 7 hour movie that if you don't read the book, you're missing a gold mine of a story.

I think books can be more specific and more imaginative to people. Because i state that, i'll state this: I thought the movie was rushed, some parts were inconsistent and could have stayed true to the book.
