I do have friends at work. We get together and go out for drinks on occasions.(This is just recently after my husband passed.)When I am at home I just like to strike up a conversation with an adult.

I have a friend that I met online. We've been good friends for about three years. In that time, he and his wife adopted two kids, I got married, and all kinds of other stuff that we talk about every few days.

Also, I've never met him personally, but my husband has a friend over in Iraq that I email just to keep him company. My husband works alot and doesn't have time to email him during the day (I sit in an office and have too much time to burn) and this guy misses his wife and baby girl alot, so I just drop him a line every now and then to ask how things are and if he needs anything like food or calling cards to call home.

Once he finishes his tour next spring, my husband and I are gonna drive the 1000 miles to meet him and his wife and little girl.

Yeah. I've built many good friendships online! A lot of my friends now I've met online (like through myspace and IM.) Of course, I knew that they went to my school i had just never talked to them in person before, but still...Just make sure you're safe though if you've never met them in person.

Sure... I've been bored at work all summer, and I've made a few new friends through here. We email each other and such. Hopefully we can continue to talk throughout the school year as well!

yes, I think you can....I see it as a different type of friendship cause its mostly communication not much hanging out.....I've had an online buddy I talk to for a few years....we've never met but we chat online all the time and its one of the best types of conversations to have cause its no pressure....just chatting....

but I think its good to have friends via the net because you can sit at home in your pj's and watch tv while you chat...lol....

Absoulutely...I have many friendships via the internet...It's a wonderful way of knowing people without the barriers we seem to have in person...Just learn to be smart though..you'll know within one email if the person is worthy of your continued friendship....Be cautious...yet have fun!!!!!

Sure, I think you can get to know someone and be friends through the internet. I think it is a great way to meet people. Share hobbies and just talk you can be your self and there is no pressure. Go for it, make friends.

yes i don,t see why not the likelyhood of ever meeting them though is very small as most of us live on the other side of the globe to each other so if you develop a friendship with someone online keep the mental picture in your head of what he or she looks like because its probably the only one you,ll ever have

Nothing wrong with meeting friends on line.Just be sure you truly know them if you choose to meet person -to-person.If you talk to someone on line sometimes it's like a therapy session. It can really help.I am sorry for your loss. just do your best to keep on keepin on.
