HIV is at a remarkable number in India and for some reason people in India are still so conservative about teaching their youth about sex education and sexual responsibility. Considering India is the land of the kama sutra, and when u see all that is being shown in Bollywood movies, when will people realize that its hypocritical not to emphasize the importance of sex education when its such an apparent part of our culture?
This HIV is not just happening to prostitutes or "other" people's children, its happening to their own as well...Are these people who are opposing it in denial about whats really going on in India right now?
Parents are clueless as to what their kids are doing, there is such a lack of communication between parents and kids regarding this subject and i think it makes kids more vulnerable to making the wrong decisions when it comes to sex. How do we deal with this situation when we as a culture continue to have this double standard mentality?

I disagree with you Vijay, I am not talking about small children less than 14 years of age & parents may knw who their children are going out with lekin they dont know always where they are going, they lie all the time to their parents about going to shadi's or staying at friends homes when infact they are at clubs or with their bf /gf having sex in their cars. This is not just happening in an illiterate class, this is happening to everyone who is not taking the threat of HIV seriously. Parents need to take responsibility to have better communication with their kids and stop having this backward mentality of denial. Have you seen the kinds of questions people post here? Sorry but people who have net access r not those "illiterates" u were talking about & are lacking basic sex education. I personally think in the kind of culture we live in, Bollywood would be the most effective way to communicate to the masses in India about the seriousness of this issue. "phir milenge" was 1 movie.
