The B2000 had adjustable valves. The B2200 had what Mazda call "lash adjuster" which were hydraulic and non adjustable. This engine was known for noisy valve adjusters. Replacing the lash adjusters was only a sometimes fix, and at $24.00 each (eight of them) it can get expensive. On one engine I had I replaced the rocker arms with the adjustable ones from the 86-87 B2000 and that took care of the problem.
