Generally you will see outlines some on motherboard where some things like Agp/pci, Ram slots would be if they were on the mobo. if your seeing that outline your board did not come with one already, meaning you will have to buy another motherboard, you cant just buy the slot, as they have to be soldered in, its apart of the manufacturing process by the company that made them.

AGP was an option that was not installed on the motherboard by the manufacture. That is what you see is the place for the AGP slot. There may have been a revision to the orginal motherboard and the AGP was redundent or not needed.

If you want to use AGP you will have to upgrade your motherboard to one that has an AGP slot.

Most newer motherboards are going to PCI-X because you get a higher frequency response from the main bus with PCI-X

Hope this helps....

If the AGP slot connector is not installed on your mobo, then you will have to stick with a PCI video or the onboard video. An AGP adapter must be installed when the mobo is manufactured.

to tell wheather you're using agp or pci-express. look at your motherboard and see if your slot has a cut towards your right. if it does, thats a agp. if it doesn't, thats a pci-express.
