I am a rather dominant personality...(I'm also a first born)...I find submissive people boring...I want someone to CHALLENGE me...(and my husband, a middle child...does)...I do not want to be around someone I can easily manipulate...
No fun in that...

Every woman is different Bryan!! Some women want a certain type, and some want the other type. Personally, I find that I like a little of both, b/c I've dated someone from each end of the spectrum. So I like a guy who is dominant with certain things, submissive with others. If you are smart and good at picking up on things and reading btwn the lines, you should be able to get the idea of what type a women you're seeing would prefer w/o outright asking. And if it seems like it might be a combo, just ask certain ques. or do certain little things to figure out which areas she prefers that certain type of guy in!

Dominant women want what society see's as submissive guy. In opening the curtains, the submissive guy is the glue for the family unit. They handle the bills, choirs, and routine. This allows the dominant woman to concure her profession. I would suspect that they desire a "Dominatrix" like the men do from time to time; but it's not talked about in polite circles.
Dominant men want a dominant woman. We see this with the "Dominatrix" prostitutes. However, they still appreciate the house wife for the routine.

Being aggressive and being dominant are two different personality types.
Being a dominant woman, I can agree with the previous answer. Dominant personalities tend to be attracted to other dominant personalities. Someone who is easily manipulated or pushed around (mentally) is not a challenge and is therefore, not interesting. We need someone who will push back, keep us on our toes. Weak, or submissive people are too easy for us.
People who have more aggressive tendencies will look for more submissive personalities because they need someone to back down.

I'm definitely a femdom and enjoy either submissive or dominant types of men. With the submissive, I get to show them how to love a woman properly. With a dominant man, I get turned on by the tug o' war. But in the end, I enjoy top, bottom, and side to side in love.

I think strong women will go for either type depending on the person.
A truly dominant woman has a "want" or "need" to control and will typically choose a more submissive partner.

I'm a pretty strong woman and truth be told I prefer a dominant man. Strong men always seem to know where they're going what they want and certainly are not wishy washy. I don't want a guy asking me whether or not he can have five bucks for his lunch at work; he's got to know his own mind and use it. I don't want an equal it takes the edge off; it that edge that makes it all worthwhile.

I'm not a dominant woman, but I am a strong woman. My husband is also a strong man. That's for me, can't really speak for all women.
