When do I know when i should be changing from the 1st stage foods to the 2nd and so on? My daughter is 6 months old and has gone through all the different flavors of the stage one foods...is it time to go on to the stage 2? If not when is it time?

You just do what feels right. Experiment with what she can chew on good. One food at a time of course. The only difference in stages is the textures of the foods. My youngest is 1 year and she eats toddler graduates AND some stage 2 still. There is a green beans and rice, she loves. She cannot feed herself baby food, but she chews it really good. There is also a type of snack, I guess from Gerber, and they are puff like things shaped like stars. She has been eating them since she was almost 5 months. They dissolve super fast and help with the using her small muscles like fingers and hands, and feeding herself. They are also healthy too so that is a super plus. Good luck.

Our twins are almost 7 months old...they just started the stage 2 foods per the pediatrician. They both have teeth...One has two teeth and the other has two with another on its way. If your baby is taking the stage 1 and still seems to be hungry, try stage 2. Stage 2 isn't really chunky, just thicker than stage 1.

By the time my son was six months old he had been on stage two foods for a couple of weeks. About a month later I had him on stage three foods. He was also trying table foods. It really all depends on what your baby is telling you by her body language. My son also had four teeth by 6 months. he could just about eat anything he wanted to.

When she starts to get teeth and can chew different textures of foods do you change them. Most babies will start spitting out or refusing the Stage 1 foods - then it'd be worth trying the next stage.

I changed when she got more teeth and she would "inhale" a jar. The food in 2 is little chunkier.
If she is 6 months and has a few teeth and seems unsatisfied with one 1 jar, switch!
