Yeah, Guild Wars is very fun. You can have four characters to start out with. The Classes are Ranger, Warrior, Elementalist, Necromancer, Monk, and Mesmer. And If you buy Guild Wars Factions you get +2 character slots and you can now be a Ritualist or Assassin. If you buy Nightfall you get +2 character slots and you can be a Dervish and a Paragon. It's online so people can always help you out or trade with you. Another good thing is that there is NO monthly fee like omany other online games. You're fighting different creatures all the time in this game. You get to travel around from a peaceful place to a charred broken place to a icey snowy place to a jungle like place and to a fiery desolate place. As for the classes Rangers are wilderness survival bow men with animal pets. Warrior are brute strength and use swords axes sheilds and hammers. Elementalists control the elements with powers. Necromancers summon the dead, place curses on people, and sacrifice their health for some strong attacks or to heal their allies. Monks are holy men. They heal their alies and smite ememies. Mesmers perform illusions, magic, and hexes. You can also join guilds. Thats about all I can think of right now but for more information go to www.guildwiki.org or www.guildwars.com
Sorry for so much info but I'm happy to have new guild wars players. :-)
Which One To Get
I personally like the story of Prophecies(the normal one) and the monsters and characters but after awhile you can buy the others if you think its fun.
My Rating (From best- worst) 1. Prophecies 2. Nightfall 3.Factions but thats just my opinion the Assassin, Dervish, Paragon, and Ritualist's stuff is here. The Assassin caries daggers and uses the shadows to his/her advantage. The Dervish uses a scyth and holy magic and eventually can use a spell to turn into an avatar of one of the guild wars gods for a short amount of time. The Paragon uses a spear and is a leader. His leader skills and powers make him strong but also boost his partys stats. The Ritualist summons spirits and uses the power of the spirit world to attack his enemies and sometimes heal his allies.

Both are solid games and it is up to you. If you want to wait for Guild Wars 2, that is perfectly fine and it is stand alone. If you like learning about the lore and are interested in seeing how it changed, then by all means get Guild Wars. I believe GameStop has the complete collection of all three campaigns and the Eye of the North expansion for about $30. If you do decide to get the original, the time you spend there will not be in vain. There are achievements you earn in the original that translate over into nice extras in GW2, provided you have at least one campaign and the Eye of the North expansion. ArenaNet has stated emphatically they will continue to support the original game as long as there are people playing it. However you decide, you really can't go wrong.

Your question is a bit vague. What kind of info? Guild wars is a great game. You have to buy it new in a store (don't ever buy a used copy, it's worthless), but after that there are no monthly fees.

You'll probably also attract a lot of goldseller bots to this question. They autorun a macro that spams replies to any question with Guild Wars or Warcraft in the title. Never buy ingame gold from these sellers. Most of them come with attached viruses and trojans. Even the ones that don't will get your guild wars account banned.

If you have more specific questions, you'll get better answers.
