The first one that comes to mind for me is the helmet law. It isn't saving lives and it takes away my freedom of choice.

It's pointless to try and legislate common sense. Forcing people to wear seatbelts and helmets is more of a way of generating revenue through tickets and fines rather than a real concern for public safety.

As far as banning smoking, that is ridiculous. Allow the business owner to decide if he/she will allow smoking or not. It's that simple. We need to be allowed to choose for ourselves. The government does not know what is best for people because it cannot possibly examine every circumstance. Therefore, it makes general assumptions that are usually wrong.

EDIT - Hahahaha, the second amendment. That's a good one. By the way, you misquoted it. The actual amendment reads:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

By understanding the use of the English language and grammar at the time, you will learn that the second amendment involves two seperate clauses. The first is the right to keep a well regulated militia. The second, which is entirely seperate from the first, is that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Therefore, saying that we should abloish firearms because militias are no longer needed (which is debateable in itself) is incorrect and displays a misunderstanding of the amendment.

Howver, your anti-gun point of view is duly noted and chuckled upon.

The constitution doesn't ban freedom, but it does explicitly allow for rights to be regulated as to when and where it could be exercise,in the name of the public interest.U can't yell 'fire' in a theater when there isn't one, for example! So the Government can't take away the right to smoke as such, but it is permitted to tell U where not to smoke, when it concerns the public arena. But it still couldn't take away that right when and if U R in your own private space, like your house!

id like to repeal all laws that are just so outdated they make the joke books. I think that in order to make a new law, the lawmaker should have to research and find five laws to repeal. That may slow them down some from spewing out ridiculous unenforceable laws just to seem important.

The law that says if you are born here you are a legal citizen. I think one parent should be legal as well. I am sick of pregnant cows coming here, popping out the kid, and getting a pass. That is the most upsetting thing. The mother or father must be a US (LEGAL) citizen to have a child be a legal citizen. I could only imagine how much this costs our country per year in health care costs.

In West Virginia, while riding in a non-horsepulled vehicle approaching an intersection, you must stop 100 feet before the intersection, then discharge a firearm into the air to warn any horsedrawn vehicles of your presence.

I think that's a fun law.

I wrecked on my Yamaha about six months ago and cracked my head on a curb...so, I would have to disagree about the helmet law, as I would probably be dead right now. I would like to repeal whatever law made pot illegal, as alcohol and smoking kills millions.

Any law that takes away from a persons freedom of choice.

Income taxes. That's good.

Mines not a law, but an amendment. I think either the income tax amendment or the popular vote for the senate. I think its high time we have some state representation in congress.

The second amendment states that as long as it is necessary to have a well regulated militia to protect the state, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. A militia is a citizen army of volunteers. We have not had to rely on militia groups to defend us since the earliest days of the republic. We certainly do not need one now. Lets do away with all firearms today.
