How do you use 'em ???
I mean.... i have always ridden bikes with gear shifters that work with both ends of the feet ( you know .. the normal ones ... like in Pulsar and the sorts ) ... but some other bikes have this 'toe-only' gear shifter which looks freakish to me ( Like in Karizma) .. so how do you shift gears with these shifters ?? .. i mean shifting down seems easy ,,, just hit it with the toe ... but how do you shift up ????

Well you just use your toe by going underneath the shifter and shift it up. Basically you use the top of your toe. it may not sound feasible but everything i have ever ridden is like that. dirtbikes, quads, streetbikes etc.. You will get used to it very quickly

I have been riding for 51 years now and all but acouple I have owned were " toe shifters ", which is the norm for street bikes. You can get rocker shifters for about any bike, so if the toe thing is annoying then check out the option. You really would be confused with my 1947 Knuckle Head Harley chop which is a foot clutch hand jammer.

I prefer the toe only shifter. In fact, I bought my newest bike 2 weeks ago ( a 2007 Harley Davidson ultra glide) And immediatly changed it to toe only. To use, You just push down on the shifter to drop a gear, and put your toes onder the lever and lift, to go up a gear. Simple. You use the clutch the same as you did with a rocker shifter.

To me toe only is easier. I just started riding with a heel - toe shifter and I'm having a hard time getting used to it.

my cousin's dirt bike had a toe-only shifter...it's easy to shift up by putting your toe under ther shifter and pulling your toe up a little bit...
