Why do they believe in policies that harm america and americans....and just have this twisted convoluted "voodoo" like belief that its gonna work...when all common sense says...you are on the wrong course??

Are you talking about things like or tantamount to:

The way to quelch a fire is to pour gasoline on it...and if fire rages on, no worries its only cause you have not poured enough gasoline.

or maybe, the best way to balance a budget is to cut your revenues and increase your expenses

or perhaps, that trade deficits are a sign that things are going just swell with our economy and record high gas prices, and the outsourcing of jobs overseas while importing millions of slave laborers to take jobs of our citizens and depress their wages is really really good for our people, and their quality of life.

or perhaps, you mean make it hard for our childrento go to college or med school etc....but if we need qualified professionals, import them from overseas....while our children have an incredulous look on their faces....along with the rest of those of us still with our common sense.

Because they go to public schools and are taught by teachers who have never worked in the private sector.

Think about it: A student who becomes a teacher graduates from high school, enters college, and goes to work immediately after earning a degree back into the school system. These people have no concept of what the rest of the world demands in order to make a living. Well, they've heard about it but never had to use it. Thus their thought processes are stunted because they have a government-based view of the world. Everything these teachers have, unless they paid for a private college to educate them, comes from the government. They never see someone earning a profit or have their livelihood depend on thier ability to produce anything.

I think that every teacher should have to spend their summers working in a legitimate business that makes money. That way, they can understand the cost of doing businesss and teach their students the same things.

Sometimes, "the slightest education" does not sufficiently prepare one to form accurate views. Common sense isn't common, and isn't always sense.

So, when you're certain that something is obviously wrong, it may just be that you haven't given it enough thought, are aren't sufficiently well informed on the subject to make a judgement.

Of course, there are also many issues that touch upon issues of emotion or faith that provoke irrational judgements...

I believe some of of the very people you are referring to are really attacking you on this question.

You see the other thing you forgot to say in your question is that these americans who do have these "voodoo" like beliefs that defy common sense, hate criticism and will attack you and smear you when they feel you are trying to shed the light of day on the lies they perpetuate.

I don't know actually. Ask a liberal. Ask the folks who "believe" because you live in the US you are entitled to free health care when there are people in other countries who have little if any health care at all. Ask the folks who complain because their cell phone doesn't have a connection when they don't even have access to any phone.

Common sense is an oxymoron these days. If you don't believe me look at what is happening in Congress.

The "slightest education" does not give a person inside information to everything going on. To assume that you have an "all knowing mind" is a form of mental illness.

I imagine someone as educated and intelligent as you claim to be would have supported your claim with at least three or four examples.

I don't know about you, but when I was in college, one had to be able to support their conclusions with examples and sources, but then again I graduated from an American University, silly me.

It has nothing to do with education. It's the fact that many people feel that their education can disprove common sense.

And, oh yeah, your question makes no sense.

Examples of what you are specifically referring to would be helpful if one is to intellegently answer this question. It could be seen from very different points of view, as stated, that could cause much more separation of an already divided community.
