You can contest it, but if she isn't budging, it will still happen. It will just be more expensive and take longer. You can't stop someone from divorcing you if they really want to. You can make it more difficult, but ultimately it will come to an end.
If you believe she is being held against her will you can call social services or the police, but if she tells them she is there of her own free will, there's nothing else that can be done.

If the husband is not allowed to contact his spouse, that is called a restraining order which has to be issued by a judge and has to be filed by the spouse. There is a hearing to present the judge with reason why there should be a restraining order issued. Sounds like there is a lot more to this story than is being told.

He's not "allowed" to contact his wife? She's living somewhere "unwillingly"? Are you saying that she's been kidnapped, or that she's receiving advice that you consider to be bad? If she's actually being held against her will, that's against the law. If you just don't like the advice she's receiving, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

my guess is if the husband cannot contact the wife there must have been abuse involved. If there was he is out of luck on contesting the divorce.

Uhhh, call me silly, but if the wife is over 18, can't she make her own decisions? So, according to the story, she is being held captive against her will...then call the police for her.

Unless she is using her family as an excuse.
