You can explain part of it in a socio-economic way, but there are also a lot of other cultural signs too. Much of the African American community promotes crime. It's not an official promotion, it's shared by almost none of those African Americans well respected in the community, but it is promoted by a lot of entertainers and cultural icons. -The odd thing about it is that it's almost always focused on Black on Black crimes. Whether leaders like to acknowledge it or not, there is a social stratification system in Black communities that puts value on possessions over virtue... thus the ability to acquire and protect becomes the foundations of social growth.

I think you are looking at this from far to narrow of a view. You need to look at the socio-economics of an area rather than the "color" of an area. There are a number of predominately black middle and upper-middle class neighborhoods throughout this country where the crime rate is not at all high. Crime however is higher in areas of high poverty. Poverty is the reason not the color of a person's skin. One of the big problems with poverty is that it increases thoughts of helplessness and hopelessness thereby making it even harder to get yourself out of it. People often talk about the American Dream however the odds are that most people will be die in the same socio-economic class in which they were born. True there are always some people who more (and that can happen both up and down), but as a rule this is not the case. If you want to deal with crime, then start looking at ways to decrease poverty in this land of plenty.

I agree with the last few respondents. Socio-economic conditions are the main determinant for high crime areas.
Have you ever noticed that for some strange reason areas with poor educational systems, i.e. low income communities, produce high crime rates?
what a weird coincidence.
P.S, no I'm not a neo-liberal.

Crime is higher in low income areas. Yes, there is a disproportionate amount of minorities in these areas, but it is not designed that way. There are plenty of people that raise their children right or move out of these low income areas. There are white criminals in the inner city as well. Many times these people are educationally restricted, earning a low wage; just enough to cover rent, with no chance to save for a home or education in order to relocate to a better life.
moral upbringing is another factor. How many of these homes have both a father and a mother in the home? morals and ethics are lower in situations where there is only one parent, and he/she is out working, rather than parenting, and the child is indoctrinated by his/her surrounding society. There are also those they grow up around crime, and see it as normal- as unfortunate as that is...
You must remember that there are plenty of people that live in these areas that are law abiding citizens. Most of all criminal activities are perpetrated by the same 10% of the population. They will prey on those in their proximity, they are not going to commute to create a crime. The more crime occurs, the more people become apathetic, or accepting of it, with the highly influential youth taking advantage of the bounty that the shortcuts of crime deliver, and committing crimes more heinous and violent than the generations previous.
Only two things will increase or to raise your standard of living rapidly, the lottery and crime. People regardless of the level of income will always want more than they can afford.

I have no theory why it is authentic. besides the undeniable fact that it incredibly is. i'm now an American Citizen yet i replaced into born in India and the poverty factors are loaded with crime. besides the undeniable fact that, Race would not play a element. It does in the U. S.. i believe it incredibly has something to do with Welfare recipients breeding extra welfare recipients. we do not have welfare in India. this would properly be a Christian phenomena. alongside with loss of training, i'm questioning that perchance poverty in the unfastened countries who've some sort of public guidance application creates a sub custom of criminals who believe that what's mine belongs to them. so as that they take. i'm particular the housing complicated in France replaced into undesirable, the terrific option?
