The cost of manufacturing a molded part is related to the quantity produced during a production run. When 100 parts are produced, the cost is $300. When 400 parts are produced, the cost is $ 2400. What is the average cost per part?

You mean the cost is $3000 when 100 parts are produced?

Well, I'll assume that you do in my answer

100*3000 + 400*2400 = 300,000 + 960,000 = $1,260,000

Divide by the total number of parts (500) and you get the average cost per part which is $2520
