That would be nice. But I don't plan on dating until I finish high school. I love watching the NBA, not just for entertainment, but I also think its interesting to see a myriad of different people from different backgrounds get together and do what they do best. All-Star is especially fun. Too bad the camaraderie doesn't last until the playoffs.

In school, whenever we have free time in class, I always chat with people about NBA. I'll chat with anyone, any time, about any player. It's really fun! NBA FANS UNITE!!!

So yes, it'll be awesome if I spend the rest of my earthly life with someone who shares my greatest passion

I'm a girl who watches the NBA all the time, and I understand that guys need their time alone to watch sports and do other male bonding things. Just because she loves the NBA doesn't mean she wants to impose, I know I wouldn't. I would watch games sometimes but when the guys need their time it's cool. Just like girls need their time together even if men don't want to do the things girls do. And who watches the NBA and looks at the men and says oh, he's hot. That's a waste of time.

I've been wondering about that too. Sometimes boys are like giving me that are-you-trying-to-impress-me look, but no, I've been a fan of the sport since I was 5. And fan of my team Dallas Mavericks since I was 11. I just love this game. Maybe that'd be cool, if my boyfriend likes basketball as much as I do, but not all boys like NBA. Some prefer baseball, or hockey, or soccer.

:-)

All the girls in my family know just as much about sports as guys and I've found most guys like that about us. I don't act like a smarty pants about it, I just like viewing and talking sports. Its something anyone can debate and its harmless, no one gets offended. The fact that everyone has a different opinion is cool.
Guys who would find it immasculating to have a girl know more about the NBA than they do, is kind of sad. Get some self-esteem already, nobody thinks you are less of a man.

I would say that I would not. That is still kind of a "sacred" thing between a guy and his guy friends. If a girl gets in the mix, it just doesn't feel right. I could certainly say I would love to have a friend that was a woman that loved the NBA, but not a girlfriend. Having a GF that had an interest in the NBA, would watch games, and root for teams would be good enough, but leave the hardcore sports stuff to a guy and his friends.

that to me would be like a dream come true because i love to watch the nba and im a die hard fan and if my girlfriend would cheer for the same team as me and wouldnt get bored if i was talking or watching basketball then that would be awsome! just picturing watching games together would be a unique experience to share with them. Plus if you both know a lot about the nba its like a whole new thing to talk about and enjoy the great sport together

It wouldn't take much to match my knowledge of the NBA... if you know they dribble the ball down the court and try to get it in a little hoop, then you know everything about basket ball that I do. Most women know that much... I guess my answer would probably be "It doesn't matter", but I guess she would have gotten along with my dad.... were he still alive. Oh well.

No for one reason... I know way too much about the NBA that would scare the living daylights out of me if their was a girl who knew all the random stuff I know

To be honest, not really. I mean, a woman familiar with the sports that a guy is watching, and being comfortable with it is just wonderful. That's just perfect for a guy to be able to sit down with his girlfriend and watch/enjoy a basketball game.

Something that may bother the majority of men, though, would be if the woman knows as much as him about it. It makes him feel less... manly, in a sense. Basically, men are supposed to be into sports. It's a guy thing. If your girlfriend knows as much as you about sports, it's putting you down.

Not all guys think like this. But again, some to the majority do.

it would be really cool to have a girlfriend that knew alot about the NBA but if she knows as much as me it would get annoying. Honestly, we would talk sports all the time and everyone would hate us.
