We are going with in the next few weeks. Going on a weekend day with our two kids 4yrs and 2yrs. We've never been to this zoo....We are planning on bringing our sit n stand (for both to be able to sit if they get tired)...Or our jogger for just the little one. Also we will bring some snacks and drinks to eat later on too....Is there a trial ride? With the stroller fit? Anything else about this zoo will be helpful? THANK YOU!

We went on the 3rd. There are discount tickets available at drug mart, although ours was sold out of tickets. The discount tickets are $9 while full price is $10 for adults for kids 2-11 the discount is $4 while full price is $5. Kids under 2 are free. Cuyahoga residents have special rates for Mons.

The food was all fast food (in the main zoo anyway). So you may want to bring food and not just snacks for the kids.

There is a tram that goes to the top of the hill, it looked roomy enough, but we did not go on it. The hike up the hill was long, so you will most likely want to take it, especially if it is hot.

When we were there the bears and gorrillas were not there because of the bridge construction. Unfortunately those are some of the animals that my nephew most wanted to see.

A lot of the restrooms are very small and some of the diaper changing stations are outside, so make sure that you bring a mat that you can use. There are many restrooms though, so perfect if you have one that is just learning.

There are some special exhibits that cost extra. The dinosaurs were kind of cheesy but the kids liked them. You may not want to get the tickets for the special events. We spent the whole day at the zoo and didn't get to see all of the animals in the main part (we skipped the fish) and we didn't get into the rainforest at all.

The fulton road bridge is gone, so you may need to consider an alt roote. There was a traffic jam getting out at the end of the day, so you may want to wait a bit to leave or leave a bit early.

Have fun.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a great zoo... Definetly bring the stroller, you'll need it. I have that stroller and it would be perfect.. If you can pack your food in a backpack..That would be helpful. There are acouple steep inclines, but other than that you should be ok.. I was really really pregnant when I went last time and I did both hills ! There is major construction on one of the main zoo entrance/ bridge, but the zoo is open ! There isn't a petting zoo anymore, that's where the australia exhibit is currently.. The primate house is nice and air conditioned as well as the aqarium which has a "touch" exhibit with barbless rays.. lots of fun. I think there is a dinosaur exhibit that's extra, but may be worth it.. If you have AAA you can get some discount tickets, however the price isn't all that much.. The rainforest exhibit is fun as well... Good luck and I hope that you enjoy... Also, if you go to the zoo via Memphis Rd. there's Memphis Kiddie Park a Cleveland instution with old style original rides for the kids... Lots of fun it's been around forever !!!

The Cleveland MetroParks Zoo is a great place to visit- there are tons of things for kids to see and do there !!! You can buy food inside the Zoo itself- but you should plan on bringing water and some other beverages. The Zoo rents strollers, and most of the rides and exhibits are accessable to both strollers and to wheelchairs. There are plenty of places as well to sit and just enjoy watching the animals- this zoo is largely an outdoor one. Your kids will love the petting farm, and the train ride ( and so will you).

With this being said, there a couple things you'll want to keep in mind. First, plan on getting there early in the morning- the parking lots fill up quickly, especially in the summertime. There is a shuttle service that will take you from your car to the main admission gate- take advantage of this, because it is a long walk otherwise. Make sure that you wear comfortable shoes, because you will be on your feet all day. You will want to bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a camera with film and extra batteries, and yes, you will probably want to bring a stroller. Admission to the zoo is about $12 to $18 for adults, less than that for kids under 12 ( under 5 is free, if I remember correctly) and does NOT include food or tickets for the train ride. The train is a very popular thing, especially if the weather is hot- so get your tickets early, like right after you first arrive in the morning. As far as getting to the zoo goes, your best bet is to get on I-90 going east and follow the signs. There are lots of those- and they will guide you right into the zoo. Have fun, and I hope this helps.
