Here's a link to all the menus for all the parks at Disney World, plus all the resorts:
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm
If you are concerned about saving money, eat as much as you can outside the parks. Then check out these menus and have a game plan for good, cheap places. Also, in case you decide to splurge and have any sit-down dinners, you MUST call Disney in advance and get a reservation. You might also want to read about the dining plan and see if it would work to your advantage:
http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/packages06a.htm
If you decide to eat as cheaply as possible, you had better figure at least $10 each in the parks per meal. I would budget $50 a person a day, plus more for sit-down meals. I would rather over-budget than under-budget!

To go with what others have said:
DEFINITELY check out the AllEarsNet com links provided by someone before me. You'll get actual prices for dining.
If you are going to spend a significant amount of time in the parks, it might be good to look into getting Annual Passes. And if you get an Annual Pass, you can purchase the Disney Dining Experience for $65, which gives you 20% off of many of the sit down meals on property for your party (up to 4 I believe). And if you get Annual passes, you can actually do a 2nd trip down there 11 months later and your admission is paid for...
And for sit down meals: Lunch is cheaper than Dinner. While some are only open for dinner (like Bisto de Paris or most of the nice hotel ones), most of the good in the park ones are open for lunch and serve much of the same food (and Marrakesh in Morocco is actually better for lunch due to the lighter crowds helping with the ambience).
Another thing I do is get breakfast things for the room and eat before I leave for the day. The hotel gift shop sells a few things like donuts, juice, etc, or you can get that stuff off property.

well I stayed at the Disney All-Star resort in Florida.... Your best bet is to buy their $11 mug (you get free refills the entire time you are there with it at your resort). I had a little mini fridge in my room & it might be worth you guys buying some stuff you can fit in the little fridge (I brought bagels with me, so the next morning i went & got the little packets of cream cheese from their dining hall at that resort). Little stuff like that can sort of cut down on spending $$ in the park or at the resort dining hall. We also brought our own snacks & water into the park in a backpack, that way we didn't need to buy it in the park.... Depending on if you will have a vehicle you can always leave the park & resort area around lunch & go to the local McDonald's or restaurants just outside Disney & then come back into the park later in the day, depending on why kind of tickets you have....

Everything in Disney Resort hotels is more expensive than average. If you rent a car, I would get off the Disney property for awhile and eat at restaurants outside of Disney. There are tons of great restaurants off the Disney property that have meals for under $10/person. I highly recommend renting a car just to get out of Disney for a day or two. Two weeks is a long time to spend at the Mouse House and there are great places to drive to in a day like Cocoa Beach.

i went to Disney World for 4 weeks and have just got back.
On the whole i found eating in Florida to be very cheap compared to UK. Actually most things there are cheap compared to here.
Childrens meals $3.95 and there was loads of it and belive me i could split one of them between my 2 youngest kids. Even the oldest two could not manage to eat a whole one each.
Best place to eat was Buffetts as they are a real good deal, $4.99 kids or $6.99 Adults
One tip i will give you is as much as the Kids nag you when you are in the parks to buy them stuff try and get them to wait until you go to the outlets they are half the price and they are Still the official disney goods.
With the exchange rate how it is at the moment you will prob only need to change 1000 and you will most proberly end up bringing some home.
JUST ONE THING BEWARE AT DUTY FREE IF YOU BUY CIGARETTES AS YOU CAN ONLY TAKE 200 INTO USA OR 200 BACK INTO UK.
AND THE LOVELY HELPFUL CASHIERS DONT MAKE A POINT OF TELLING YOU UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE PAID FOR THEM...........
Have a great time in Disney with Mickey & Co
P.s As your kids are older they will more than likely prefer Universal Studios & Islands of adventure better, It was brilliant there all my kids loved it.

Look into getting the dining plan. It could save your family of 4 a lot of money. If you dont want to do that you can check out the website allearsnet.com. They have menus of resturants at both the resorts and parks and it has prices. This way you can get a rough estimate on how much you will need to take.
I would suggest taking a little more then what you figure you will need. It's better to have more then have too little.

Well we went to Disney World recently, and the food is very expensive. So what we did is we cooked our own food! We were in the Fort Wilderness Resort, so there was a whole kitchen, and we ordered the groceries and they delivered them straight to our resort! It worked out fine, but make sure your resort has a kitchen, or it could be a little tough.

Get the dining plan! It is by far the easiest and cheapest way to eat without worrying about the money. My husband would gripe over every dollar we spend at a theme park and would try to be cheap. You pay for the dining plan up front so you can just enjoy your trip and PLENTY of food with out worrying about the bucks!

well went to disney earlier this year. Don't get food at the hotel. Go to the Disney village, it's basically full of restaurants. I mean FULL, only probs is that it does get buisy in the evening.
In terms of prices, they are sky high, trust me. You need to got to the disney village and walk around, and find the cheapest restaurant.
Average price for a burger and chips is. around £4
There is Mc Donalds there, ad their pretty much the same price as they are here and the UK, and indeed anywhere alse they are.
There is also an american diner, just as you go into the disney village, on the left, thats quite good.
2 weeks in disney land. I went for a long weekend, and was bored after the first day.
It really isn't that big.
You can always got to paris though.

pretty expensive.
The best tip I can give you is to go to a bookstore or library, and buy "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World." Don't get any of the "official" ones -- this bookk is the best! It will not only tell you all about food costs, types, etc., but it will also tell you which days to go to which parks, and the order to go on the rides. You will avoid standing in line for hours with this book! You may walk a bit more, but that beats standing in line so much. The key is to FOLLOW THE PATH THEY RECOMMEND!!!
Trust me -- this book is a lifesaver!!!!! They study the parks and use statistics and crowd traffic movements, and they update the book yearly.
