I think you should by yourself a pre-paid phone from "Verzion Wireless( Razor)"at Wal-Mart.
The cost is only about $118 and you get a charger,$10 refill card and other really nice things and you only have to recharge it every month with one of the refill cards.

You should buy a Red Razor. A portion of the proceeds goes to charity in Africa to help fight HIV/AIDS. I believe the contribution is something like $17, but that is enough to buy medications for a family for an entire year!!!
Besides the contributions, its actually a great phone and works very well. The graphics are awesome, it is user friendly and it looks good.
Make sure you choose you provider well though.
Sprint is the WORST! I have them as my carrier now and they always add fees and charges onto my bill that I know I didnt use or subscribe to. So every month I have to call them and get random charges taken off my bill. Someone told me they were just sued for this, but I cant be certain.
Motorola is a good service and gets great coverage, but most people I know use Verison and tell me its the best.
Good Luck in your search :)

I have a Razr that I just got and I love it!! Depending on what service you have at least. The one that I would NOT recommend is any one of the phones with the keyboard - unless you have small fingers not that mine are huge but the keyboard is SOO small. Good Luck!
