You definitely want to play X before you play X-2. X-2 really resolves a lot of the storyline left hanging at the end of X. Also, X is by far the better game. I didn't hate X-2, though. I thought it was fun. Play X, then X-2.

Final Fantasy X is one of the best games around. I believe it was voted #1 as the best game all time in Japan. Also consider thatn X-2 (pronounced 10-2) is a direct sequal to X You will be missing a lot of character devolpment and stuff like that by not playing the original. It would be like watching the Two Towers before Fellowship of the Ring ... you will be saying "wtf" a lot more.

X......Definitely!! X-2 was a bad game. Bad story. The girls were ok if you're into girls lol. The only thing I thought amusing about the game was the fact that they changed clothes when they changed jobs...like white clothes for white mage and black clothes for black mage...
Other than that I never finished the whole game cos it got tedious and repetitive. And very dull. One of the worst games Ive ever played.
X was my favorite game of all time. Ive played it several times and I love it. Great story. Likable characters. Good game all around.

X. X-2 is merely a continuation and also it is not as good. If you get X-2 without playing X you are just going to be dissapointed

Without a doubt, FFX. The game is awesome, albeit a bit tough! FFX-2 is just a weak spin-off..
