The distance between Alaska and Russia is about three miles between the big and little Diomede Islands in the Bearing Straight. One island is in the USA...the other in Russia. Russia is no longer communist. So the answer would be Cuba at around 90 miles from Florida.

Still Cuba as of now. Perhaps one day it could end up being Mexico if the left continues to take over South America.
