Oh give me a break. Can you really put health care of an infant (who is not at fault for its parents income or lack there of) in the same catigory as HBO, a yacht or those new boobs you are sporting?
This question is absolutly rediculous. I can not believe that there are people who are against all people having equal opportunity to health care, ***** about the taxes hikes and in the very same breath support the rediculous war we are in. Where do you think the money to pay for this war will come from?
So let me ask this a much more reasonable question. Why is it ok to tax the American people to pay for an absolutly criminal and irresponsible war that does nothing but line the pockets of oil companies, but not ok to tax the richest people in america to provide reasonable health care for our OWN citizens?

Lets take away the rights paid for by the government and see if you would notice, um, you'd be screaming! Health care costs are out of control in this country with no end in sight, and, 45 million people are without health care, including almost 25% of our children under 18. This is detrimental to the economy and well being of the U.S. Government involvement in providing health care to those that are without, does NOT mean "socialized" health care. Massachusetts now has health care available to ALL of her citizens, and, DID NOT eliminate the employer based system already in place at the launch of the availability of the program. Health care is not a choice, it is a necessity!

Common sense individuals understand health care cannot be free. You can pay up front or through taxation.

Everybody knows this, but you choose to focus on the syntax of people involved in the debate, thus ignoring the discussion of what is important...fixing problems in the healthcare system.

Your neighbour´s health affects your health, their diseases affect your health. Healthcare is a basic right, but it is a basic duty too. You will not be healthy if your neighbourhood is sick.

Once we understand this, we can understand why universal healthcare is important for all.

Secondly. Preventive healthcare is much cheaper than therapeutic healthcare. Universal healthcare is a pre requirement for preventive healthcare.

Don´t get it wrong. When people claims for Universal healthcare, they don´t do it because they are cool and they are concerned about your welfare. They are concerned about their own health.

Don´t worry. It is not goodness. It is selfishness, they share your values.

Your health is not your own business, it is your neighbour´s business too. Your right and your duty.

People have to take responsibility for their own lives. None of the above are basic human rights. If you don't work, you have the right to be hungry. If you don't buy a car you have right to walk. If you don't work you have the right to be homeless. These are examples of basic human rights.

Nothing is 'free.' You have to work for what you want. No one ever asked for free healthcare. I think we're talking about 'fair' healthcare. Free. Fair. Both starts with an F. Still don't see how you confused them, though.

Let's turn this around: At what point ARE you your brother's keeper? When ARE you a member of a community and what does that mean? What ARE our obligations to one another as Americans and as human beings?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

You do realize that Universal Health Care does not mean free don't you? People will have to buy into coverage plans. It will be available to all Americans, but will not be free.
