Alright, I've been with my boyfriend for a year, and I don't think we really talk enough when we're together. He's one of those guys who doesn't really talk about how they feel or anything. I try to talk to him about things that are going on and sometimes I tell him how much he means to me. He never really does that, unless he's just telling me he loves me. He told me that he lets his actions do the things he can't say. But, sometimes a girl needs to hear it, ya know. And I've said that to him, and when I tell him that he'll talk a little bit about it, but not much. I just fear that we're going to drift apart because of this. I couldn't handle not being with him, but I don't know what to do to help him realize that he can say anything he needs to, to me. It isn't like I'm going to laugh at him if he tells me how he feels. I thought it would be better to put this in the marriage section, since a lot of you know what it took to keep your relationship going.

Some people, men in particular, have a really hard time showing emotion and expressing themselves verbally. If his actions show it, be grateful for that. You can continue to tell him how you feel, and the few times he reciprocates, let him know you appreciate his feeling safe enough to open up. You just can't force it out of him. If you stay together, over time you might find that he will begin to feel more comfortable opening up.

not taking his side, but alot of guys just aren't that talkative and open. Communication is the key, but if you know without a doubt you can't be without him, pretty much you're going to have to accept him as he is. When he IS in a talkative mood, enjoy, and try to keep the conversation going as long as you can, adding in those little things you like (cards, chocolates, flowers) that say a million words without having to say alot out loud. Maybe he would take the hint, and give you those things that you can cherish.. Good luck.

some men have a habit of not being that vocal kind. i guess you are the reverse. you should try to find an occasion when you can tell this to him as a confession. if he is the right bent in mind then he will accept your comments and take necessary action on it.
