You can cut them anytime that you want while the blooms are there. If you like some unopened blooms then just cut it when the look of the bloom appeals to you. When cutting lilies for bouquets, snip off only one third of the stem's length or you will weaken the bulb for future years. To make blooms last for a long time place them in cool water for several hours before displaying them in a vase. To ensure blooms for next year, make sure that you mulch them with Oak leaves or Pine needles to keep the roots cool throughout the summer and keep them watered well.
