I've learned to click on their profile, and block them. This way I don't have to look at their hateful posts. Try not to let it bother you...Realize that there are hateful, closedminded people everywhere...but there are just as many likeminded individuals out there. You just need to keep your eyes open for people who think, feel and live like you. Everyone else is not worth your time.

Hope this helps.

Here it is, step by step:
1) report WITHOUT making one comment, answer, etc.
2) Block
Anytime you see a block flag on a question, don't even open it. A few here (much smaller number than you think, some idiot trolls have 4-5 screen names working at the same time, answer their own question/comment). After a while, you will recognize the same comments over and over, from a new screen name...you will know it is the same troll with a new name...just report, then block.
There is absolutely NO reason to get yourself into an uproar over things people who have brains the size of a pea write...IF you think that this stuff is real, then I agree with your partner..get the hell off this site. This site, basically, has become a place for trolls. Only when everyone ignores them will the go away. One troll works this section AND Marriage/Divorce section. Big deal.

I'm the same way... I usually check out the people who give good answers as well though. :) I try my hardest to not let the haters/mean comments bother me. However I know there was a question in here the other day that made me so mad and it was because of how this guy was being treated by some model. But I try not to touch the haters questions/comments, but block/ignore or report or both. They are here to cause problems and if you go after them, you lose points, and that irks you even more. I know more and more people on here that have said something nasty to a troll and have lost points or been blocked from here. But the troll is still here or just goes and makes another account. My advice, just be yourself, but be careful of the haters/trolls. Yahoo defends them more than anyone who is innocent in here... Lame I know... Good luck & take care! :)

As far as I know, hateful comments here do not have the power to really change the way I think. It has never stopped me from coming on here and answering. Believe me, with so many great people on here, it is easy to let go of all the hatred. I usually ignore any unnecessarily hateful posts, or report offensive posts. But then, it is too much of a waste of time, and I move on to more interesting questions.
Chill out man, and have fun while you are here. We cannot stop living for the bigots' sake.

I generally run through their questions & answers as well, report those that violate Answers policy, and move on. Doesn't seem to do much good, but makes me feel slightly better to know they may have been momentarily inconvenienced, and I never take ignorant comments personally. These people are just miserable cowards- or as my partner's mother puts it "it's probably the one thing they have control of in their life", and they're just looking for someone to scapegoat for their own screwups and lack of a spine. Unfortunately, until Yahoo implements a more restrictive signup policy- and imposes stricter limits on new members- there's not much more you can do.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. You don't have to like it and they don't have to like yours. These people may have good solid reasons for saying the things they say, just as you have reasons for feeling the way you do about what's being said.
I would suggest you stop 'investigating' people after you read their comments if it is upsetting you that much. But keep this in mind. It's a little narrow minded to call these people 'evil' just because they think something different than you. Maybe these comments you made are just as offensive as others that have hurt you.

My Dear One, chances are, you'll never meet any of the idiots that post such nastiness. They're cowards that hide behind their computer screens because they know if they came out and said the words to our faces that we'd be quite happy to 1: clean their clocks for them and 2 : file charges.
Think of it this way, my darling. What they post are just words, and even though words *can* hurt, only you can let them hurt. If you do, you're letting the Trolls win and I know you don't want to do that. I figure that I realize that most People are Good and that we're seeing the 5-10% that are doofi. (oooo I love new catagories) They're NOT worth it. Let is slide off you like water off a duck's (or an otter's) back.
We love you too.

Back when I was getting angry and upset, here's what I would do. I would "answer" the question with all of my emotions. Then I would cancel it. I would not send it. For me, it was cathartic to "say" what I wanted without opening myself up to being reported and my account deleted. I didn't care that the hate-filled bigot couldn't read my response because he/she wouldn't listen anyway.

I just ignore them...my general training in public service over 31 years left me with a feeling like.."I only have to deal with you for 5 minutes...you have to live with yourself for your whole life". I really don't care if people leave hateful comments anymore...because they are all false statements. If they were to say something true about me I might get upset...but that hasn't happened and isn't likely to (as they really don't know any really personal data about me--only as much as I choose to release on this site).

Just let it roll off your back. Be the better person. Don't let them prohibit you from being yourself, because the people that matter don't mind and the people that mind don't matter. Who cares what they think? Just give em a thumbs down if they really pushed your buttons, and listen to some music to cheer yourself up. That's what I do when mean silly people are upsetting me. Hope this helps.
