Be careful with bog plants, many are very invasive.
Some that are are little more controllable are Japanese or Louisiana iris, horsetail, cardinal flower, and swamp hibiscus. Anything in the willow family will grow in wet soil, as will many ferns. If you want something bigger and very unique, plant a contorted filbert. I have one in the area where my garden pond overflows and it does very well there.

is the soil soggy because of so much rain if so wait till it dries out, if naturally soggy foxgloves grow well or how about installing a pond and pond plants.

Few plants tolerate soggy conditions.
Check with your local nursery for suggestions on plants that will grow in your area.
