YES! I remember seeing her singing and dancing as a child to "On the Good Ship Lollipop! Later I remember her being referred to as Shirley Temple Black. I believe she ran for Congress and lost. She did become a US ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.

When we finally could afford a black and white TV, I watched Shirley Temple classics. She was one of the great child actresses of her age. She didn't make too many movies in her teen years and eventually left Hollywood. She went to Westlake School for girls. She eventually married and had three children. We didn't really hear much about her. She became a human being with a life of her own. She ran for Congress! Boy, I remember that! Had everybody talking, "How could an actress represent anybody or know about lawmaking!" she lost the race. (I think she paved the way for Ronald Regan). She was appointed by Nixon as a delegate to the United Nations. She also made the public aware of Breast Cancer when she her self developed it. You mentioned you had to do a speech on Shirley Temple. Here is a website that has school reports on her as examples. You may wish to check out that site: http://www.shirleytemplefans.com/main.htm
Good Luck, hun.

1. Yes, I remember her well.
2. She went into Politics and became an Ambassador,
..then married a successful man in the Shoe Industry named "Black."
.. She is now a Housewife and known as "Shirley Temple Black."
.. They live in California and I've seen her a few times on TV as a Celebrity Guest. She looks good, a little overweight, - still a bundle of personality.

She was before my time as I am only 38, but I watch a lot of her old movies on AMC and things. She was a child moviestar inthe 1930"s give or take a few years.
She sang and danced, and was best know for her curls and dimples.
My favorite movie of her's is the little princess.
she acted well into her teens or early 20s.
As an adult, Shirley Temple Black became an embassador
to an african nation, though I couldn't tell you wich one.

I know who Shirley Temple is. She was a child actress, although I've never seen any of her movies.
She grew up and married and became Shirley Temple Black and I'm pretty sure she served as a US Ambassador to Ghana.

Shirley Temple with the archetype child actress. She starred in movies. She was a cute, precocious little girl with blond ringlets.
After her acting career, I believe she married. I don't know anything more about her.
