I have my period & I am going on vacation tommorrow !
I just got my period today. What do I do? I really wanna go swimming in the pool & beach. I mean I'm going to the Caribbean, and there is not much to do in the morning except for the beach and pool.
Are there any methods which people use to go swimming with their period? Would a tampon work? I've never swam with one... HELP !

tampon will be fine, i recommend o.b. non-applicator tampons to prevent any embarrasing leakage. if you place it correctly, you wont even feel it, and it will be like you arent even on your period :D

Have you used tampons before? Do you have someone you can talk to about using them?

Tampons are compacted cotton used internally to absorb the clots and blood from your period. If you don't have a lot of experience with them, I highly recommend that you purchase a box of tampons with plastic applicators. The plastic appilactor has a rounded end and will make things go easier for you (and your vagina) since you may be inexperienced.

Follow the directions on the package--it's pretty simple and directly laid out for you. Some of them even have diagrams! If you've never used them before it might take some practice getting it in. The most important thing to do it relax and do some deep breathing. Don't worry. It will probaby be easy to insert. If not, don't hurt yourself and stress over it. Bring both tampons and pads and if you can't get the tampon in, wear a pad and some shorts. It's not the end of the world, I assure you.

And don't worry about the tampon absorbing water or falling out. Your vaginal muscles hold it in place naturally. Leave it in for 4-6 hours, then change it.

Have fun on vacation!

Using a tampon is the only way you will be able to swim when on your period. You can't use pads because they're made to soak up liquids (including water) and they just look big and bulky.

Tampons are GREAT for swimming. That is part of the reason they were invented.
(doodle is wrong. Periods do not stop in the water. The water just washes away the blood)

Tampons all the way!

Just be sure to change them every 6-7 hours.

They work just fine. Just make sure the string is tucked out the way to save embarassment. You won't know the difference after that! Have a nice holiday!

By the way 'Doodle', I don't know where you heard that but you are very mistaken!

u have 2 use a tampon and they usually should work. but dont spread your legs to far apart when u swim or u could let water rush in and fill up your tampon. but i've swam in them before- its not a big deal.
