My 8 year old was recently diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. Can you recommend a good book for her to read which will help her understand. There are loads of great books on the National Autism Webstite, but they do not say what age group these books are aged at. My daughter is a very good reader.

Try 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' by Mark Haddon. It is a fictional book and the main character; Christoper Boone has Asperger's Syndrome. This book opened my eyes to Asperger's Syndrome.

Freaks, Geeks & Asperger Syndrome by Luke Jackson.
The author, Luke Jackson is ,only 13 years and wrote this wonderful book as "A User Guide to Adolescence" with Asperger Syndrome.

I highly recommend it and believe your daughter will enjoy reading a book about Asperger Syndrome by a peer with it.
Best wishes!

There is nothing wrong at all with Aspergers Syndrome. Many of the best scientists and many great artists have it. The character of Mr. Bean is a great example of an aspie. I've heard that the Aspies feel like how normal people would feel when stoned. Its like a natural high. Makes me jealous.

There is a web-site that you will like it has a source of many books and info to questions you may have. When surfing the site go to on line shopping and you will see the word Aspergers and, also go to parents, and blog.
